Elizabeth Banks cast as Laura Bush for presidential biopic

Elizabeth Banks has been cast in Oliver Stone's upcoming biopic of president George W. Bush. The film, which has already nabbed "No Country For Old Men" lead Josh Brolin to star as Bush, is another addition to a long line of biographical movies from Stone.

The Hollywood Reporter states that Banks is in final negotiations to play Laura Bush, as she's just finished shooting Kevin Smith's "Zack and Miri Make a Porno." Stone's movie will simply be called "W" and begins principal photography next month in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Brolin has already been cast in the movie and Stone, who is openly anti-Bush, said he'll make the movie as fair and objective as possible. Do you think it's too early to make a film about a president who is still in office?

I'm shocked that they're making a movie so soon, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's too soon.... I guess we'll have to wait and see :)

It might be too early, simply because there isn't access to a lot of "official" information yet. :/
