December 20, 2008Metallica Prove That They Can Still Rip Some Sweet Metal
I certainly didn't see Metallica in their "prime." I don't know if it makes me a terrible fan or an incredibly dedicated one that it took me 17 years to see the metal gods live for the first time. And I certainly wish I could have been closer for the duration of the show. What I do know is that Metallica absolutely killed it performing at The Great Western Forum in Los Angeles. I may be late to the game, but I am still happy.

December 18, 2008AFI announce video contest for fans to sing on record
Well, they didn't exactly announce it; rather, they unspooled the news in a maddening, cryptic sequence of clues, a seemingly wild goose chase that’s been driving the AFI world into a frenzy since Monday morning. And now the mystery is at least partially solved. The clues have led to the discovery of a contest in which the band will pick six fans to sing on the next AFI record. Yeah, you read that right. The band is going to choose fans based on videos they submit to YouTube to participate in the creation of the new album. Holy cow!
Want to know the details on AFI's fan contest? Only one way to find out...

AFI's 'Mystery' Kicks Into High Gear...Again!
It's been so long since the Charlotte Mystery that transfixed the AFI community in 2007 ended; much to the surprise of everyone, it appears that it's started up again in anticipation of a new record from the band. On December 15th, the entire AFI official site was taken down and replaced with a single image. In just 3 days, amidst many speculations and morse code translations, it seems the AFI community is set to receive a special announcement from the band in the very near future.
What's going on with AFI?...

December 12, 2008Photo Assignment #23: These Dead Streets
Evidence of my further attempts to indoctrinate Buzznet with music I love: this week's photo assignment comes from a lyric by A Wilhelm Scream, who are currently making the best punk rock (after Propagandhi, of course) in the modern age. The song: "These Dead Streets." Your full lyric: "We're gonna make because your heart's in your intentions; you and me, we will resurrect these dead streets." Time to get creative!

December 10, 2008Photo Assignment #22: Results!
This week's photo assignment was another ambitious gallery theme. Taking cues from a lyric from an American Nightmare Give Up The Ghost song, the topic was bound to garner some emotional results. I'm not surprised by the results, because Buzznet has done exactly that: shared some of the most emotional photographs we could imagine!

December 5, 2008Photo Assignment #22: Screaming Gets You Nothing
Ok, if you don't listen to American Nightmare Give Up The Ghost, there's clearly something wrong with you. While you correct that, here's a new Photo Assignment for you. Taken from the song, "Hearts," your theme this week is: "Screaming Gets You Nothing." Oh, and let's make this interesting: This is a gallery assignment. That's right. You have to submit more than one image. Unexpected, eh?

December 1, 2008The All-American Rejects Want Your Ink!
They might be sharp-dressed men, but if the guys in The All-American Rejects were to disrobe, you’d totally see their love of ink! In fact, after the success of their self-titled debut album, Tyson, Nick, Mike and Chris all went out and got the AAR logo tattooed on their chest. (True story!) That might’ve been the first tattoo for some, but it wasn’t the last.
Can you design the next tattoo for The All-American Rejects?
